For the Love of sensible shoes.

Ok, SO I will start with a slight history into my shoe choices over the last 10+ years. I liked shoes that weren't really shoes. We are talking Primark ballet pump type shoes, shoes that cost about £4 and made you feet cry. Need to walk for like 8 hours, I'd wear pumps, need to go out when its raining, oh pumps it is, oh its -2 outside, no worries I'll grab my pumps.

It is stupid but I didn't care. Last year I took the plunge and invested in a pair of Mary Jane doc Martins.... Finally cold wet feet had started to get to me a little bit. I won't lie I am having trouble getting along with them even a year later but that's another story. Last year however a couple of times I did start wearing my boots when it was very cold, one example would be as when we went to Longleat and I had on my pumps but within about 2 minutes I went back to the car and got my boots out of the boot... haha... boot.

The main reason I didn't like boots or sensible shoes was that DAMN confidence, or lack of it should I say getting in the way yet again. I always felt like boots or high closed in shoes made my legs look chunkier, that they didn't suit my shape. Because I always wore crap shoes the minute I put anything substantial on I feel like my legs are being suffocated and I am burning up. They felt clumpy and clumsy on my feet and that just made me feel bigger and chunkier. So my feet suffered because of those bloody ridiculous insecurities again.

I won't lie I am getting fed up of wet feet, or cold feet that actually hurt to walk on. I am worried that walking in shoes with NO support will cause damage to my body in the long run.

So I was strolling through town on my lunch break a few weeks ago and I spotted a pair of Clarks boots. They had wool lining that poked out the edges and I just fell in love with them. I did that thing where I walked passed and then quickly backtracked to have a look. They were quite pricey at £90 but Clarks had a 20% off voucher so they were only £72. I was going to post about them after Christmas as they are wrapped up under my Mum and Dads tree at the moment but I seem to have gone a little boot crazy recently ha!

I loved them and everyone said they looked lovely on. They fit very well and are so cosy and warm. I think when the weather gets bad these will be great to wear!

Matt and I then went to hyper Japan last weekend. I was going to blog about it but I didn't really end up taking any photos or anything. We did go up a little early and went to Spitalfield Market first and had a look around. I popped into Office as we have been desperately trying to find Matt some shoes as his are finished and I saw these little ankle boots.

I fell in loved with them, with the black Friday sales they too had 20% off of them and made them £62. I fretted about them and in the end Matt told me to just get them. They are so gorgeous and they go so well with my dresses and skirts (as shown in my pictures above!) They didn't even need much wearing in. I thought these would be good for an in-between as the Clarks boots would probably be too warm to wear at the moment. They are real leather they are very comfortable.

Anyhow I was very happy with my purchase and I thought that will do, but we popped to town yesterday and they had these beauties in Clarks half price for £35.. again real lather and so comfy.

I was again fretting over them and while trying to sort my tights out Matt went and bought them for me. I have to say although similar in style they are quite different in colour. I think these will go with more than the tan ones. I am undecided if I should keep these ones or not but we shall see.

I am loving wearing boots and shoes though, they are comfy and warm and my feet are happy when I am out in them! I can't wait to wear them with nice dresses or long days out over Christmas!

I think it is really worth spending a little extra on shoes, I feel like they are really important thing you have to wear every day. I also am beginning to notice when you so spend a little extra you get a pair of shoes you love, that will love you back and last for a long time!.

I do however have a couple of pairs on my wishlist for the new year sales!

I think these will be better for spring/summer but we shall see.! I am glad I finally have shoes that I can wear out now without worrying that they will get destroyed in the rain or there might be a chance I will loose a toe to frost bite!

Now just over 2 weeks until I can get my hands on my super cosy ones!
