TeeFury junior sizing review 2XL

I thought I would write up a little review of my recent purchase with TeeFury. I usually just order an XL woman’s when I am ordering t-shirts as that is what I usually am. I am around a size UK 14 in tops and sometimes a UK 12, so I find the fact that woman’s sizing in t-shirts comes up so small. I mean why is it junior sizing? Should it not be designed for woman like men’s are designed to fit men rather than children? Heh that is a whole other rant I have pent up inside me.

So I have been looking redbubble and TeeFury recently and the reviews they have for sizing has put me off somewhat at times. TeeFury now do a woman’s size and a junior size, from what I read online the woman’s sizing came up bigger (but shorter) but was also fairly un-shapely much like men’s t-shirts. So I got out a t-shirt that fitted me nicely measured it and was surprised that according to the size guide I would be a 2XL in juniors. I have a long body so I wanted the extra length and I also have a little waist and bigger hips so I wanted it to be more fitted so I went with the junior sizing.

It took a while to arrive but not too long considering it came all the way from America to England. When I opened it I was quite pleased with the size of it, until I went to put it on. It is SUPER un-stretchy. Most my other t-shirts have a fair amount of stretch to them so they are usually really comfy and fit nicely. Considering this t-shirt is a size larger than what I usually order it was annoying it came up quite a bit smaller (mostly around my hips). However it did fit nicely and it is exceptionally long which is great.

Above is my XXL junior's TeeFury shirt compared to a XL men's Threadless shirt.

The quality is nice too and although it is pretty un-stretchy it is soft and comfortable. The print on it is a little rubbery, it isn’t as high quality compared to say Threadless or TeeTurtle t-shirts I own, but it does feel like it will last and I don’t think wash off easily or crack.

To the design itself it is beautiful. Yuri!!! On Ice is my favourite anime (and anything) at the moment and that last scene with them skating together was just perfect so I absolutely love having Yuuri and Victor pair skating on a t-shirt! The colours are vibrant and it is printed well, really crisp and bright.!

Overall I would say give TeeFury a go as they are really cheap for the t-shirt of the day and even their full priced t-shirts! I paid $13.36 including postage which is crazy reasonable. I would suggest following their sizing guide strictly on their website as they do run really small and if you are above a UK 14 I would advise avoiding the junior sizing!

I do absolutely love t-shirts and I have my eye on a Redbubble one at the moment!

Emily and Fin review.

I have eyed up Emily and Fin for some time now. After discovering them via modcloth I have quietly watched in the shadows wishing I had a fair few of their dresses.

The price tag for is a bit too steep for me, even though on a few occasions the sale prices have tempted me. One reason I always end up hesitating is because I have been unsure what size to aim for. With Modcloth suggesting to size up and the reviews saying that it is a little too roomy in the bust I have been torn between and 12 and a 14. I fell for this Lucy dressin Meandering Polar Bears back before Christmas and I have been keeping an eye on it in the sale since the New Year. When it dropped down to £26 from £65 I really couldn’t say no anymore. I decided to order a 12 and a 14 in case one sold out if it didn’t fit and now I was finally ready to take the plunge I would know for future reference what size to order.

I have to say the postage is a little high, and with no free returns that always puts me off a little ordering online. I am always much more willing to give things ago if there is free returns, but as the dress was such a good price and look amazing I thought, let’s give it a go!

I ordered them on Friday afternoon and they arrived Tuesday. Because they send their parcels DPD I was able to have it transferred to Halfords as I would have been at work which was a bonus!

I was impressed straight away by the quality of the fabric and print. The fabric was slightly darker than it looked online but I really liked it and it was still really vibrant.

The fabric is a nice weight but still light enough to feel comfortable to wear, I can’t stand heavy materials but this was spot on. The reviews were correct in that the bust came up slightly big on me in the 14 but the waist fitted perfectly. The 12 the waist was too tight and the neckline cut in a little too even though the bust fitted better, so I decided that the 14 was the best fit!

I really adored the little crystal button at the top on the dress to do it up, it was a really lovely touch. As well as that it was fully lined and had pockets HURRAH! How we do all love a good pocket in a dress. The length on me was really comfortable. I prefer shorter dresses but as I am 5ft 8” sometimes they come up just too short! Bum skimming. This is longer than my other dresses but still short enough that it doesn’t give me that frumpy feeling with the added bonus of my bottom staying covered.

Overall this is one of the highest quality dresses that I own and £26 was a great steal of a price. I am also pleased with the fit, it is really complementing and although slightly loose in the bust it isn’t noticeable. I will defiantly be purchasing more in the future!

So this dress gets 2 thumbs up from me! More if I had more thumbs, so much so I am tempted by the Rose Dress in teal falling snowflake!

So I would highly recommend Emily and Fin and I would say the sizing is pretty spot on! I am now gutted I missed out on so many previous sales!

Film Review Mortdecai.

My review this weekend is of Mortdecai.

I had seen a lot of bad press about this film, but as I have the cineworld card, and I like to make my own mind up of films I went to see it on Saturday.

The film followed an eccentric rich English toff, who is in to art collecting. Him and his wife are in a lot of debt and he is requited the police to help out with tracking a missing painting after a murder is committed.

It follows a typical slap stick English comedy feel, along the lines of a Mr Bean or the Carry on films. It’s got a silliness about it, but I personally find this type of comedy slightly dated, and although the Carry on films are still hilarious to this day, it seems to be a thin line between hilarious silly and trying too hard tacky silly when attempted in modern films.

This film I think is on a thin line here. One of the main characters ‘Jock’ really stops the film passing over that line. He plays a typical rough, tough cockney London guy who is Mortdcai’s man servant. His character is subtle enough that you really take a shine to his and he is quietly funny, where are Johnny Depp’s character Mortdcai, lacks this subtly and moments which I believe should be funny, tend not to work so well.

I found the story line quite dull after a while, and although there are a lot of twists in the story, I still found myself a little bored with it half way through, I think the attention was mostly given to the comedy rather than exciting plot, but as that was lacking in some points it never really dragged you in at any point and immersed you in the film.

I would say this film would make a great Sunday afternoon film and would recommend it for that. The sort of film that doesn’t require your full attention, but something to add a smile to your face and curl up on the sofa to enjoy after a big roast dinner.

It isn't a bad film, but I wouldn't recommend paying cinema prices to see it so I would give it 2 stars out of 5!

Hope you all have a fab week :)
