It's the most wonderful time of the year!
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, I did even though it was very different!
I haven't been very good with updating this blog in the last half a year! Work has been exceptionally busy and after my Grandpa passing away I don't think I have been much in the mood!
But as I have had rather a lot of time off over Christmas
(still have 4 more days off woohoo) I thought I would sum up 2014!
This year has had some amazing parts & some shitty parts.Thinking about the amazing parts though!
I have the wardrobe I had dreamed of for such a long time. As I have written before I have never had the confidence to wear what I wanted and I have always felt quite restricted. This year I think was the year I really really changed. I've been really sticking to this since August 2013, and this summer with the gym and healthy eating i pushed myself past my goal weight and I am really proud of myself!
I have made some great friends at work, and I have actually enjoyed my job this year! My first job as a graphic designer I took so I could get experience, lets face it, in no way can you be picky if someone offers you a paid Graphic Design job the minute you leave Uni. It worked in my favor as I really do like my job now and all the people I work with. I have really enjoyed the last month with the Christmas Spirit, Elektra Awards and Christmas party.!
One thing I did which I was really pleased about was selling my designs. At the beginning of the year I had some necklaces made up and they were a bit of a flop. But this Christmas I had my Christmas design printed and I sold over 100 in a week! I was super pleased with myself and this year I think I will invest more in the greeting cards side of things!
I have been so excited though about Christmas coming around this year!
I booked a trip away (1 night) to LongLeat. It was just in a travel lodge and to see the festival of lights, I got an amazing deal on Tesco for Longleat and the hotel was super cheap as I booked it back in September!
The rest of the post is pretty image heavy so see below to continue reading!
So I will sum up the very end of 2014 on a very positive note.! 19th December rolled around and I was sooo exceptionally excited as I now had 16 whole days off! We went to Brighton on Saturday where I ended up meeting up with Lisa, we did some shopping and ended up going out with her and her husband (Bob) and some of their friends. Completely unexpected and I got to wear my new dress which was a Christmas gift from me to me! I had such a good night, I really did and as we very rarely go out much we really enjoyed it! Plus I thoroughly enjoy Lisa's company :D
Sunday was pretty dull and I dyed my hair and then Monday came and we left about 1pm. The traffic was awful and we got to the hotel closer to 4pm than 3pm. It was located at a service area type place, and although outside was a bit grim looking inside was lovely and you forgot where you really were! We then went and had a beautiful pizza at a tiny little pizza place... it was sooo good and there was so much cheese!
On Tuesday morning we got up quite early and got ready and had breakfast in the little chef downstairs. Big mistake, to cut the long story short wont be eating in a little chef again. Then it was around a 10 minute drive to Long Leat.
We went round the safari and then we did the zoo again. (we had been October 2013 so we knew what to expect)
But when the sun went in and they turned the lights on it was just magical.! There was a singing Christmas tree which filled me with a lot of joy and really raised my Christmas Spirits! We went inside of the beautiful manner house and that was all down up with decorations.
Then the Chinese lights were just amazing. I had a really amazing time and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about going! The atmosphere was just perfect and wondering around in cold wrapped up snug really just adds to the Christmas spirit!
Some of the details in the lights were amazing as well
Some of the details in the lights were amazing as well
We then drove home around 7pm and ate good food and fell asleeep. Christmas VERY QUICKLY rolled around and I got very spoilt again this year!
I got some Pop Funkos and a very special one from America (smaug)
Benefit make up, Yumi jumper, SGA boxset, Tatty Divine Necklace, socks, Fezzy Squishable, dressing gown and lots of other lovely bits as well as some gift cards and monies!
As for 2015 I want to work on myself mentally and try to be happier with myself. Keep at the Gym and keep the weight off. I also want to work on more designs and sell more cards!
I also plan on 2015 being the biggest game changer as I hope within 6 months I will be moving out on my own with my Boyfriend and we will be getting our own flat together! Fingers crossed that happens.
Now its is fast approaching the end of 2014 and as per we do every year we will be shortly ordering Chinese food and watching a movie to bring in the new year!
So I hope you had a fab Christmas and I hope you have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
