2 months, wedding, outfits and trash talking.

Ok so it has been 2 months since I have updated properly! There’s not that much to yak on about I don’t think.

I’ll guess I will start with work. It’s been ok of late, I got given a MASSIVE project at the end of July beginning of August and I only finished it on the 29^th of August, so that’s kept me really busy for  a month. The last 3 days at work though have kind of become painfully dull and I have been horribly unmotivated. Luckily I have 8 more days at work (and a weekend in-between) left and then I have 9 days off and me and Matt are going to France so that should be very exciting.!

I haven’t had any proper time off since March so I am REALLY in need of a bit of me time. It’s always lovely when we go to Matt’s Dad’s. Its so peaceful and beautiful. I’m kinda just really looking forward to doing NOTHING! Eheh!

So what have I done or what do I have to report in the last 2 months. Well weightless is going GREAT! Lost 37lbs now. That’s well over 2 stone I think…. let me work this out…yes its 2stone and 9lbs! So not far off of 3 stone. In actual fact in total I have lost 65lbs since being my heaviest. That’s nearly 4.5 stone! I find that MIND BLOWING! That is over about 3-4 years though. I don’t feel that much different, but people have started to notice recently so I guess it shows. I guess where it seems so slow to me I just don’t pick up on it. The only time I notice is when I put clothes on and go ‘OH they don’t fit anymore!’ or ‘OH! That’s rather baggy where it wasn’t before!’.

I hope to lose another 1-2 stones before Christmas. Corrr…. Picked a bad time of the year to do that me thinks! But my will power is strong this time and I am swimming twice a week at the moment so hopefully I can do it!

So I will just talk about the last few weeks as I can’t remember all the happenings in 2 months!

Not the weekend just gone but the one before was the lovely bank holiday and we went to Lauren and Martin’s wedding. The weather this summer has been pretty glorious, most days sunny and very warm. On this Saturday it was chilly, grey and RAINED ALL DAY ALONG! It was a lovely day though.

They had it in a yurt! Lauren looked amazing and I got to wear my new dress. Oooo the dress.

So Matt was asking me questions about dresses all day a few weeks ago…. The next day he brings me a present and he bought me this BEAUTIFUL Hell Bunny dress. It was a little too big and we ended up ordering a smaller one that fitted like a glove!

So I got to save it and wear it to the wedding. I felt a million bucks in it! 

 Because I designed the wedding invitations and save the date cards too, I got given a special gift in the speeches. Lauren makes the most beautiful handmade silver jewellery. I have been admiring it for some time now and she gave me a necklace and earrings. They are absolutely gorgeous! I was very touched.

The starter was to die for! And the main was nice too! Didn't enjoy the desert but it was cheesecake! I gave it a go though!

Really did have a lovely time!

Me and Matt then went and did a bit shopping on Sunday and came across these Converse glasses. I fell in love. Matt insisted he bought them for me but they were £180ish and I said I wanted to have a good think first. We then found them online for £95, so saved a good £80!   

Its a pretty poor picture of me in them, but they were shipped today and should hopefully be here tomorrow or Thursday! Yaay!

So yeah that's a little snippet of my last two months.... not been over exciting and I will end on a outfit post from the weekend. Autumn is on it's way, people seem to be sad I am exceptionally happy so I bought this awesome jumper! <3 It was to cheer myself up as some asshole had pissed me off on the Friday.....

Funny as I now know what a pathetic, lying BORING little cunt she is! And this jumper celebrates the fact they are GONE out of my life. Good feeling taking out the trash especially when it's been rotting away for a few months.

London Film and comic Con! 2013

It has been such a long time since I updated!! (over 2 months) what a lazy bum am I!

So where should I start? I guess I will start with London Film and Comic Con.

So I waited a WHOLE YEAR to go. I was so excited as last year was so good and I was going to meet Amanda Tapping and Michael Shanks eeep!

However about a week before Michael pulled out, and then they replaced him with Claudia Black, I was disappointed but it would still be a stargate talk and Michael was coming back in the winter so I was excited again. Until Claudia also cancelled due to family issues and that meant that talk was cancelled and I only had one photo shoot  :(

What annoyed me a little was if I had known this a few days earlier I would of seen if I could rearrange for the Sunday and go to the Amanda and Jason Stargate talk instead! But alas it was like 5pm on Friday and I just couldn’t think straight. So we got up at 6am and we were in the queue at 8am ish. We had an amazing pretzel on the way too from a place we just happened upon in Clapham Junction. It was called Knot and I had a bacon and cheese one OMG is was freaking good.

The trip was really nice actually, really really easy. Train to Clapham and then the over ground two stops to West Brompton. I loved the fact the venue was so easy to get to this year and that it was air conned and it was actually near things like a café and some pubs! But I didn’t like the lighting it was HORRIBLE yellow colour and I didn’t like it didn’t have an upstairs bit. Last time when we were tired we went up there and sat down and people watched! This year we had to sit outside and it WAS BAKING HOT. I mean the whole weekend was late 20’s early 30’s the sun was burning on your skin! I wore lots of sun cream on Sunday and tried to stay out of the sun on Saturday!

Anyways. We queued for an hour on Saturday the queue apparently ended up wrapping right round Earls Court 1 and 2! It was shaded that side so that was nice although I don’t think it was too hot at 8-9am. We got in just passed 9am and I went and joined another bloody queue to exchange my Michael ticket for a Jason Momoa ticket, then I JOINED ANOTHER QUEUE to have my photo with Amanda! Didn't have to wait too long maybe 10-15mins and I went in all shaky and what not and he voice was divine! Her Canadian Accent was lovely and she asked me how I was and I said I was great thanks how are you? And she said she was great! Got a great photo too really pleased with it!

We then had a long wait till 2:30 for my photo with Jason so we went and looked round all the stalls. Saw my friend Jenna who had a stall there! We then went to look for food but matt started to get really stressed I think he was majorly over heating! So we went to the pub and had a drink and then went to a café as the pub was rammed! And had some food. We then bought cookies and sat and ate those and there was a robin that was RIGHT next to us he was very brave and I didn’t know robins came out in the middle of the summer!

Matt left me to queue for Jason, I had to wait a while it sucked because for Michael I had ticket number 69 or something and then for Jason I ended up with 400 and something! Bah! But I saw him, didn’t really say much , his queue was huge, I kind of wished I had gone in the morning as it I think it would have been much less busy. BUT I was super super pleased with my photo and he seemed like a really really nice guy! 

We then mooched about and I got an autograph from Eve Myles who plays Gwen Cooper in Torchwood. 

She was such a pretty lady, and she was lovely. I wish I could work up more to say to people, but I asked her if she was having a nice weekend and she said my name was very pretty same as Mr Sorbo last year :D

We left around 3:30ish I think and went to Oxford street. That was horrible though in the heat and my shoulders were on fire from the bra I was wearing and my bag weighing a ton! We went home shortly after though as I think we had both had enough.!

We ate ribs, onion rings and potato skins for dinner and the whole journey home I was debating on whether to go back on Sunday and see the Stargate talk! Anyway after much debating and texting Jenna to see if she could find out if there were tickets left I thought FUCK IT! FUCK IT I WAS GOING TO GO. It was only £20 for the two tickets and yes it was another £18 for the train but I wanted to go and see the talk and I wanted to go up there again. I knew if we sat around at home by 3pm we would be BORED SHITLESS! So Jenna was super kind and rang me at about 8:30 and got me and Matt tickets! So I got up at 9ish and we left around 10am and made our way back up there. We stopped off at Knot again and had another breakfast/brunch pretzel and also had a strawberry and cream one to share with nutella dip! 

I’m so glad we did I had a fantastic time! It was a little better than Saturday because I wasn't as tired. (I had planned on getting a super early night as I had Friday off so I stayed awake but with the heat and eating too much dinner I couldn't get to sleep well and kept waking up in the night, Matt had about 2-4 hours sleep!) And the disappointment from guests cancelling was long gone and the talk was amazing. We got some awesome bits including a £10 bender toy! I got some beautiful art prints and Matt got a t-shirt and book!

Jason and Amanda had great chemistry and it was great to hear some stories of behind the scenes!

Overall I had another great year there, and the atmosphere is lovely. It’s great to be somewhere full of people like you with the same interests and  you don’t have to feel silly or worried about being different or geeky!

They have another one in October now a few days before my birthday. I'm pretty glad I don't have to wait a whole year again! 

Today is awful and I am glad it is Friday.

I haven’t updated in a while. I seem to start almost every blog post with that line.

Nothing eventful I guess has happened. I’m feeling like utter horse shit today. I had a job interview last week and a second job interview this week and I found out this morning if I got it or not. As you may be able to tell by the fact I feel like horse shit I did not get it.

I am pretty fucking gutted to be honest. It was perfect and easy to commute more money and something I would enjoy doing better. I am so tempted to sack off being a graphic designer and get a job like where Matt works. Something that is easy and keeps me busy and makes the days go quickly. Then concentrate on my illustrations at the weekends, because I hate the work I do here 99% of the time. And I want to leave. It’s not really being creative its mostly putting together junk and making it look a little nicer. I don’t really know what I want to do with my life at the moment. Although what I do know is, I really FUCKING WANTED THAT GOD DAMN JOB. I liked the atmosphere there, I liked the work that I would be doing and it was still in the line of design so I wouldn’t feel like a cop out. I can be very creative and I can do nice work, but I struggle when it’s boring and I don’t care. My attention span is so shit I just can’t do it and I honestly don’t care at all. Not one bit.

Ahh well. I will keep looking and hopefully something will come up somewhere somehow. Maybe I should do my design work more freelance then I can decide on what projects and work I can take and do. Where I use adobe at work so much going home and doing at the weekends doesn’t appeal to me at all. I am feeling a little despaired right now.

It is nice having Matt at home at the weekends now. I enjoy that. We are going to see Despicable me 2 tomorrow morning and last weekend we had to pick something up from his old work so we went down to Brighton for the evening and ate amazing food and played on the pier. 

Anyways I guess i'll end that here. Only 30 minutes to go now.

I shall be an Illustrator

I haven’t posted in a few weeks. This is bad of me. Although I have been busy in a productive way!

So I attended MCM expo almost two weeks ago now. It was an insanely busy day. Really too busy at points. We queued for TWO hours to get a ticket. The hall was completely packed out smelt pretty iffy too haha! We had a look around and I really wanted to get a game signed for Matt. Turned out he wasn’t around until later and all the tickets had gone. Boo. They also has GIANT MINIONS! I wanted to take one home D:

What caught my eye the most though was all the little stands and the illustrator stands. I went to one  Jess Bradley stand and I fell in love with her art. I was feeling super sad because that’s what I really want to do. And then it dawned on me, I could do that I've just been too damn lazy to both and that annoyed me.

So I got home and found an awesome necklace that makes necklaces like the ones I love, it works out so cheap around £2 a necklace and I would like to sell them for £8-£10 a necklace. I would like to do greeting cards and prints and badge and all sorts. It’s quite exciting. So I came up with a plan.

1. Design and print business cards.
2. Make 1-3 designs per week MINIMUM.
3. Update blog everyday on Tumblr.
4.  Pick 5 designs to get printed onto necklaces.
5.  Design backing cards to display necklaces.
6. Attend a craft fair and see how they go and get my work out there!!!

Anyway so far it has gone quite well. I have two designs I am pleased with. They aren't quite finished yet though. It’s only minor touches I need to do to them!

I am actually super motivated and I can’t wait to really get this rolling. SO I really want to be a illustrator of character design and this is what I am going to do I have decided! I will make all the strange weird things in my head come to life, god knows there is enough of it haha!

Matt also got a new job, I’m not sure if I mentioned that in my last post. And I FINALLY after 10months of temping got offered my job. The downside is that I also got offered a job interview for job I really want in Croydon. It’s on Tuesday and I really REALLY want it! It’s for a production designer so the job sounds good its more money and cost of travel would be less than a quarter of what I am paying now. SOO I have everything crossed.

I also started to teach matt to drive, that has been a little scary in places, but he is doing very very well! He just needs a little more confidence I think.

Tonight I am going to get ready in the toilet after work and head down to Burgess Hill, his work are having a leaving dinner for him and I was invited so I’m pretty excited about that! Downside is though I bought my favourite dress with me but you have to wear a vest top under it and I forgot the vest top. Boo.

I don’t have any plans to do much this weekend. I think it will be a weekend of lying in bed watching Dexter (which I am currently re-obsessed with) and doing some design work. I went to see the hangover last week but it was pretty naff and tbh I was pretty pissed off too and hurt about something else it sorta crushed my mood for the weekend. I must NOT go shopping or spend much money as mine and Matt’s pay have gotten a little fucked due to him changing jobs and me changing the way I get paid :/ So staying in bed seems like a great idea. I have to get a top at lunch though as I said above and I’m sooooo fucking tempted to get this really cute little peach dress I saw ages ago! BUT I MUST NOT…. It’s like £20 and I need to save that!

I’ll end with so tales of my bank holiday weekend. I was meant to see my friends on the bank holiday but they blew me out except one and I really didn’t want to sit in a pub all day when the weather was beautiful and I had a rare extra day off. SOOO I called my trusty sister and we went to Brighton. It was lovely! Ate some Mexican food, looked down the laines, and then went to the beach, I also enjoyed a ride on a carousel. It made me dizzy and I was a little sick in my mouth. LOVELY!

Let’s hope the weather picks up as it’s been so beautiful all week and this morning it started to thunder lightening and RAIN, lots of rain again. Thank god for English weather. Yuk.

Star Treking

It’s Friday again yay! And it’s a bank holiday weekend this weekend so double yay! There’s a book I might have a go at reading this weekend. It’s called ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ seems interesting. Possibly a little sad but we shall see. I don’t think I've written anything in about two weeks. Tut tut. I went to see Star Trek Into Darkness and it was pretty epic! I really really enjoyed it! I loved the way I could still relate to it as a fan of the old series and I loved the way we got to know the characters even more! I didn't really like Spock in the first film, but I warmed to him much more in this one! I will most defiantly be going to see that again before it stops showing in the cinema.

I looked like a massive dork in my shirt and necklace but I did not care I felt pretty awesome. And I actually got a picture with Matt and that was very exciting as he never lets me take photos of him! We bought a combo food thing and I got a free badge, actually she gave us two eep!

 Last weekend was a bit of a flop. I just ended yup going shopping twice! I really don’t like shopping much anymore. This Saturday I am planning on attending MCM expo, I have never been and I think it will be quite fun and interesting! It’s only £10 to get in and £8 for a travel card which I could easily waste if I went shopping on petrol and parking! I might take Matt’s Mass effect box to get signed, I think it would be a good surprise :D

I am going into town this lunch time to pick up some black nail polish to do more patterns and what not. I plan on doing pandas tonight! Last week I did cupcake for my friend Gemma and I went for a simple polka dot effect with a darker green and white on top of light green. I get so many compliments on my nails I really like it :)

I am really hoping the pandas will look nice but we shall see I guess. We shall see.

New Skirt alas

Two posts in one week WOWZA! Although this will most likely be a fairly short post. I’ve decided to part retire my denim skirt *le sad*

So its been a bit big for a while, when I say a bit big I actually mean it falls down unless I wear a really tight long top or a belt, which I hate. I haven’t seen able to find a smaller one on ebay. I got one that was two sizes down but that currently is too tight! Boo!

I did however buy a denim skater skirt a little while ago but I haven’t gotten around to wearing it as I planned on wearing it on my hips so I wanted to lose some more weight. However I have been feeling like I have been stuck in a bit of a clothes rut recently! I wear a lot of black because I’m self-conscious and then that makes me feel very dull and boring.

I really want to wear skirts and cute geeky t-shirts and vest tops etc. as well as hoodies and more casual comfy stuff. The problem is my hip area. That is the area that I am most conscious about. I like dresses because they hide this quite well! But I don’t really like wearing dresses all the time. I like to save them for when I go out. So I was thinking about my skater skirt and wondered what it might look like if I actually wore it was a skater skirt and not a regular one. I have an issue with t-shirts in particular and the fact that they are never long enough for me. I have a small waist and I think I look better when I show this off and have something to skim past my hips. So I decided to try the skater skirt and I was pleasantly surprised with it! It is a bit like wearing a dress but now if that makes any sense lol. I feel quite confident in it, the only downside is I prefer leggings as it is quite short but that’s not the end of the world. Cause I like to hide my tattoo I can wear my flip flops that cover it well and I got some grey plimsoll things today too that I had post next day delivery so I can have them for the weekend when I’m with Matt as I really doubt it is going to be flip flop weather aha h

I feel girly and pretty in it but I can wear a mixture of tops and what not with it! I’m looking forward to wearing it with my new star trek t-shirt at the weekend when I see Star Trek into Darkness and OH OH OH OH Matt got tickets to the Harry Potter tour I’m so excited for this weekend! I also attempted to do sailor nails the other day! YAAY!

Nearly gave up on my blog, but i'm back yay

I haven’t updated in a while, I almost gave up on this blog. I have decided not to! I’m finally feeling much better since I came out of the hospital. I finished my anti-biotics on the Thursday and I still didn’t feel great and was very deaf. By the weekend my ear was leaking loads again and I felt awful, really poorly again. I went back to the Doctors on the Monday and she made me feel like I was making stuff up. She reluctantly gave me anti-biotics, told me I had no hole in my ear drum and said I just had a small outer ear infection. I was still feeling like death on Wednesday so I called the Hospital and went back to get looked at on the Thursday. The doctor there couldn’t see in my ear because of all the junk that was in there so he had to have it cleaned up. Once cleaned, there was still a hole and I still had a middle ear infection. I changed medication as the ones the first doctor gave me made me feel very sick…. Luckily I am now finally after almost 4 weeks feeling better and my hearing is almost back.

Me and Matt bought a new bed last week. It took us almost a week to sort all the crap under the bed out. I didn’t even find the crap I was hoping to find under there either boo!

It cost us around £360 for the bed and mattress which I thought was pretty good value! It’s an ottoman bed so we have lots of storage under it. I came home and Matt had built it on Wednesday (a week after he cut up the old bed) and took me out for dinner. As you can see me in my new dress sitting on my new bed wooo!

It was a nice evening we went and had pizza express and its been so lovely to sleep in. We downgraded to a double rather than a king-size and it has given us soooo much more room to move around! It’s such a pleasure to sit in and has really given me a kick to keep the room as clean as possible!

While shopping for under bed storage in tesco I was naughty and bought this pretty swesome Star Trek t-shirt which I am saving for when I go see Star Trek into Darkness on Friday. Oh I forgot I saw Iron Man in the Imax two Fridays ago. It was such a GOOOOOOD FILM! But yeah my awesome new t-shirt I really liked it and it was only £8 woop!

I really am a dork so what better way to show that by going to see Star Trek dressed in Star Trek ahah!

Other than I really haven’t been up to much. We had dinner with Matt’s Dad a few weeks ago and I discover the restaurant Chiquitos. Goodness I could eat there right now I’m starving! My healthy eating has kinda been in swing got a bit messed up after the hospital but from this day forth I shall be sticking to it. Its getting warmed now and I was hoping to be much lighter and feel much more comfortable with myself by now and I’m annoyed that I don’t and I keep being a piggy! Alas.

I’ve gotten quite into doing my nails recently and have been trying so nail art. My mum gave me and my sister a gift of a nail art brush thing from Avon and its inspired me to do some nail art! Friday I got braver than mere polka dots and did cupcakes. I’m actually really pleased with how they turned out and today at lunch I saw Barry M have started to do nail art pens so I got one and I’m very excited to try it! I’m not sure what I am going to do tonight. I may try sailor nails! Or possibly stars!! Oooh exciting! The cupcakes took hours though!!! I need to find a design tonight that will not take hours!! Ahaha!

I shall end this ramble here as I am at work and I have about an hour till I get to go home. I really hope it goes as quick as humanly possible! I just want to get home, eat and play with my nails!
