Tokyo trip, travelling and arriving in a crazy city.

I can't believe I am writing this blog post it makes me so sad. Mostly because I'm writing this means that my trip is over. Well almost as I currently write this I am 34002ft in the air on my way back to Paris to ran like crazy people to get our connecting flight back to London!

Although when I post this I no doubt will be back at work feeling very sorry for myself (which I am we got home a few weeks ago!). I posted a while ago that Matt and I booked our first real big trip together, Tokyo! I cannot believe how quickly 5 months flew by and before we knew it, it was time to leave for the airport.

I will write a post for each day, but I will start with a big bit of news. On the Sunday Matt asked me to marry him. So I am flying back a fiancé with a beautiful ring on my finger!! I will write all about it when I write about Sundays day but I felt like that news was too important to wait, but for now I will start at day one!

I would be lying if I said I was excited for the trip. To be honest with you I was terrified and so nervous. I had so many worries and fears, having never travelled to another country with a different language without people there to guide me was terrifying and although I wasn't on my own, Matt had even less experience with travelling than I did. I think I had gotten myself a little worked up about lots of things, such as taking to people, eating out (again communication barrier and I'm such a picker eater), how to we use the trains. How do we find the air bnb, what if the air bnb was a scam as everyone kept telling me about..... so many worries.....

However before I knew it Wednesday rolled around and my Dad being the champaign that he is offered to drive us to the airport. We headed off before 7pm up the M25 to Heathrow airport. We ended up being so early that we had to wait an hour before we could even check in our baggage but it flew by and before we knew it we were in Paris waiting for the connecting flight. It was quite a long stop over (around 3 hours) and then time to board the big plane to Tokyo. The flight was truly awful. Matt being 6ft6" did NOT fit in the seats. We were crammed into the seats and it was just awful. I was stuck and squish in and by the time we finally landed mysteries poor feet had ballooned up. 12 hours coped up on a plane with very little sleep the night before I truly felt terrible.

I felt as bad as I looked but I couldn't believe we were in Japan!

However the fun after that soon started. We got ourselves a Pasmo card (a bit like a oyster travel card) and headed to the train platform with my big A3 printed instructions and maps. So the first things I was worrying about was the trains, but hey presto unnecessary worry as they were easy to navigate especially as I am used to the London Underground and it was quite similar.

Funny little illustration telling you to mind your hands in the doors!
After one train change we arrived at Shibuya and walked outside to be hit by a wall of heat!! Straight away we saw Shibuya crossing and it was a real sight to see, and just as busy as you can imagine it. My second fear after the train was finding the air bnb and seeing it was ok... another unnecessary fear as we found it fairly easily and it was easy to get into and we were immediately pleased with the room! It was just like the photos although even smaller than the photos. I didn't mind that at all as I know apartments in Tokyo are tiny and this was far bigger than a hotel room.

Shibuya Crossing
We started our trip off with collapsing on the bed and sleeping for a while as the journey had really taken its toll on me. We woke up I think early evening and headed out into Shibuya to explore and find some dinner. Although I was feeling a little more relaxed..... we were still both quite over whelmed and cheated by going to McDonald's for dinner! That was our first proper interaction with someone who spoke Japanese! We guessed if all else failed we know McDonalds menu so we can just point and know what we were getting. And hey presto that also ended up not being as bad as I had imagined! Matt even managed to order a crepe too and I managed to find an animate straight away too (massive anime chain in Japan)! AND OH MY GOODNESS it was like heaven in there. Just surrounded by all the things I love and soooo much Yuri!!! On Ice. I managed to pick up some Doujinshi for my favourite ships as well as some badges and pins in blind packets!

Some of the MANY blind packs I bought.

Shibuya at night

Matt and I just after Matt bought his first of many Crepes
After a little exploring we headed to a 7eleven and picked up some green tea Kit Kats, I had been SO excited to try these as well as some breakfast for the morning and snacks and then headed back to the Air BnB. We planned our day out for Friday and went to bed for some much needed rest. However I need to also just say that OH MY GOODNESS Green Tea Kit Kats are out of this world. I LOVE them.

And that was out first day, well half a day in Tokyo. I fell in love immediately and to be honest with you it was all so surreal and amazing that I couldn’t even believe I was really there.

10 Year Anniversary!

Matt and I don’t usually do anything or celebrate anniversaries but this year is a real mile stone.
10 years together today.

We first started dating on his birthday so it usually gets missed with birthday celebrations, but this year feels more special to me and we plan on going to Video Games Live and for dinner next week as an anniversary/birthday celebration.

We meet when we were 17 in college, I was a wee Media student and Matt was a Photography student. We meet through friends and I tagged along on a trip with the photography students which I spent the whole day hanging around with Matt. I was really swept away by his humor and he oozed this cool laid back character. We started messaging, sneaking out at night to just walk around and chat and then I stayed at his house and never left so we have lived together for those 10 years and been inseparable ever since.

I still remember our first kiss and the first time he told me he loved me like it was yesterday. We have been through education together, moved out together and done everything together since the day we meet. We have had troubled periods and managed to work through but other than these very rare occasions (which I’m pretty sure every couple suffers) we gel together perfectly.

We have so much in common and are both as weird and geeky as each other. It feels like I have known him for a life time yet it doesn’t feel like it’s been 10 years as it has gone so fast. I am so excited as I feel last year we started on a whole new journey together and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us!

I can’t see my life without him and all my future plans are of us as a team. One day I hope to call myself Mrs Crosse and wear a ring proudly on my finger and maybe even a mini us running around one day.

I feel very lucky to have someone who is as kind, loving and as supportive as him. He is talented, smart and funny and everything I could wish for in a partner. He embraces my quirks and loves me who I am and as do I to him.

Let’s hope to another 10 years of happiness and support from each other!

So Happy Birthday Matt and Happy Anniversary, you've made the last 10 years the best I could ever wish for!

Oh weekends you go too quickly!

So last week was a really busy one for me. I had gym Monday as usual, then friends round Tuesday then I did my Pilates class and the gym on Wednesday (which kinda killed me a bit) and then I went out with Lisa on Thursday night to see an artist called Beans on Toast and then Matt and I had a great day out Saturday and a really chilled out Sunday.

I'll start with Saturday as I had such a good day! I woke up about 10:30am and we had a plan to go to Brighton (weather depending) and do some shopping, go to the pier, have dinner and see a film. Matt kindly got us a subway breakfast and I got ready and we headed off to Brighton. We go down there about 1ish I think and hit the shops…

I just wanted to have a good shop and day out as I haven’t been able to for months possibly even a year really… I picked up two things I fell a bit in love with!

The first was this Sugarhill boutique dress. It had little birds on it and the back was so pretty!

And the second was a more considered spend (£56 in the sale reduced from £75) this Collectif leather jacket… it is just so beautiful. I have a leather jacket but I have never gotten along with it. I always felt it was too harsh on me and I don’t think it fitted that well. But this one was just perfection. Also when I was paying they said, 'you've spent over £30 so you get to pick a free pair of sun glasses' so I was all over that! Win win!

I was hoping to get a few bits shopping, but ended up with just a dress and a jacket, but as the jacket was rather pricey that was ok!

I am still on the hunt for a summer skirt I really like, although summer seems like a wash out at the moment away so maybe I won’t need one haha!

We then headed down to the pier. Usually we spend a lot of time playing on grabbing machines, but as we threw out so many soft toys when we moved and I had to put loads back in my Dad’s loft we decided to give them a miss. The wind was pretty fierce but I have to say it was pretty warm and sunny all day and most importantly it stayed dry for us! I did flash my knickers completely when the wind got a hold of my skirt! Woops.!

I decided I would like to go down to the sea front for a bit so we went for a walk and there was a mini golf place, which was only £3 per person. I was pretty excited when Matt said he wanted to play as he usually doesn’t like things like that. I actually ended up having a fantastic time and I won wohoo! It may have only been by 1 point but I won!

We then went and sat on the beach for a little bit, but it was getting pretty nippy so we had a little cuddle took a few photos and headed to the car.

After that, we headed to the Harvester and had a really lovely meal and went to see Ted 2 at Cineworld. I being a classy girl split BBQ sauce down my dress and in an attempt to get it off (I did succeed at that) made it looked like I had, had a HUGE accident all down the front my dress. Luckily being thin cotton it dried very quickly.

Ted 2 was great as well. I may write a little review on that, I just wish the people behind us could of avoided kicking our chairs throughout the whole movie. Meh. Then we got home about 1-2am and crashed out in bed to wake up late Sunday and have an exceptionally chilled one!

Thursday before the weekend was another really good evening for me too! Beans on Toast was playing for the Ambition Festival that was held over the weekend just gone in Croydon, surprisingly for Croydon it all looked really good.

I was really looking forward to it as I haven’t had a night out in well too long and he was performing a few minute walk away from our offices. We headed to the pub after work and had some noodles and cider and then headed to another pub for some more cider and then headed to Mathew’s Yard where they were performing. I really enjoyed the support acts, especially the second one who was Glenn Hodge Banned, I’ve been listening to him on apple music the last few days!

(Glenn Hodge Banned)

Beans on Toast came on about 9-9:30 I think and he was fantastic. He was really funny and witty and his music is great! I really really enjoyed the evening! I eventually got home about 11:30pm where I grabbed a naughty burger on my way back.

(Beans on Toast)

Considering I don’t really drink I felt pretty alright on Friday (even though EVERYTHING hurt from my class and gym on Thursday)

I am pretty gutted as Lisa is leaving at the end of this week to go on to new adventures. I do hope we keep in touch, but work will not be the same without her!

I will end this entry with a few pretty pictures.

While having a chilled Sunday and tidying up, I sorted my dresses out and I am surprised at the amount of beautiful patterns and dresses I have collected. They bring me mucho joy and happiness and they are just ALL SO PRETTY! I just wish I had more places to wear them!

I hope the week is good, and the weather improves!
(although I am happy to wear my jacket this morning ha)

Post Weekend Blues

So it is Thursday and I am officially back at work. I did come back Tuesday but then I had Wednesday off and the day flew by so it was rather pleasant day at work!

But now I am SUFFERING with the come down of a good time. The first time I really felt this was in June/July 2012 when I had my Graduation then I had London Film and Comic Con and then Laura’s hen do and then when it was all over, not only did I get sick but returning to normality sucked asses. Actually to be fair I get it every year throughout January as I pine for Christmas not to be over!

So last week I was counting down the days till Thursday. Actually I would really wish I could turn back the clocks by exactly 1 week. I finished up at 5:30 RAN to the car and speed off to Cineworld in Crawley where we grabbed a maccy d’s and then went to watch War Horse live in the cinemas. It was AMAZING. I was lost for words, the puppets are just mind blowing I feel calling them puppets not doing them justice! You forget they aren’t real and they move just like real horses. I was in floods of tears by the end of first half convinced it was going to end horribly *spoiler alert * but it ended happily and the horse did not die thank god as I think I would of exploded.

I then woke up at 7:20AM!!!! On Friday, I had planned on getting up at 8ish but I was too excited and I made pancakes and bacon because my bacon pancake failed. Looked more like a omelette, although Matt really enjoyed it. I also had some and it was very tasty and then he unwrapped his gifts and was really really pleased with them. Then he had a lovely birthday treat and I took him to the dentist. The dentist was good and bad news. Bad news its going to cost upwards of £800 over the next few months to get his teeth fixed up. Good news is they can save his tooth AND we are going to get everything fixed up before they get really bad. I’m really angry his previous dentist didn’t pick up on any of this.

After that we went home and I got ready and Matt played Titan which came out that morning and then we went and had buffalo for lunch which was lovely. Full rack of ribs, whole chicken, 4 portions of fries and 2 bottomless drinks for £24.95 and then we went around Croydon where I picked up a HEDIOUS cardigan I had mail ordered (that went straight back did not look like it did online) and then tried to find Matt a jacket no luck though.

I had planned on napping but by the time we got home and the fact I hadn’t packed or anything I got a 10-20 nap in and we were meant to leave at 6pm but it was almost 7:30pm by the time we left and headed up to Nottingham. The journey was pleasant and we got to Laura’s around 10:30-11pm. Laura had put up a few birthday banners and a balloon and got matt and cake and some presents and he was really chuffed with them :) I wanted him to realise people do care about his birthday!!

On Saturday we went into town, me and Matt grabbed some pub breakfast and I had to washed my hair in cold water as the hot water had gone off which actually felt like it was burning my head hahah!

We did lots of shopping and I found this gorgeous dress.

I was planning on getting anything but you know when you see it and you JUST KNOW! It was £40 which is the steeper end of what I usually pay for dresses but it was worth every penny and it fit so well too!

I wore it to Annie’s on Sunday and asked Matt to get a nice photo and he got this instead! BAH he is great and getting me when I pull horrible faces!

So then we got home and went to Tesco! We ended up having a late lunch and that filled us up so we bought pizza and garlic bread on the way home and had dinner when Sammi got back. Alas she was working almost all weekend which sucked!

Sunday we woke up and went to a coffee shop for lunch. I won’t lie I paid a lot for a pretty nasty panni and Matt didn’t seem to enjoy his BLT either. Then we enjoyed some sunshine and had a good chat all afternoon and headed off to Annie’s Burger Shack!

I was very excited to see the pancake one was still on there so Matt had that and I went for the mushroom swiss! It was surprisingly quiet in there and we were in and out within an hour. The food was GORGEOUS my only complaint is they had sold out of almost all desserts except one we didn't like. So instead we went to the orange tree and had a cocktail each instead. I've been there 3 times now and I am addicted to the toblerone martini.

We then headed home and cut the cake had some and just chilled out in front of the tv and was nattering for hours again. I planned on leaving at 10-11pm but by the time we packed and kept chatting it was 11:50pm before we left and I really didn’t want to go! I had such a nice weekend I was GUTTED it was over and also I always forget how much I miss Laura.

The drive home was just horrendous. I bought energy drinks but I had to pull over twice it was too much and I was WAY TOO TIRED. We made it back home around 3:30am and I was SO SO happy to see my bed!

Monday Matt wasn’t in a very good mood and we just kinda bummed around. We went out for lunch and I just caught up on food shopping and what not.

Tuesday was back at work, I have to say it flew by I was quite busy with things to catch up on and then when I got home Matt had been very naughty and bought me the bag I had been pinning over for weeks. It’s a BEAUTIFUL Disaster Designs bag and is a little gingerbread house! We actually saw it in a shop in Nottingham. I didn’t know he had ordered it and I was all like OOOH NOOO it’s way too small blah blah blah. However it does fit what I need in it and will be great for days out when I only need my phone and purse, Its actually fairly surprising what you can actually fit in there! But I am very spoilt and its FREAKING ADORABLE and I really really like it!

Wednesday I then had off to have a ‘farewell lunch’ with Matt’s brother as he is off to live in Singapore. We went up to Covent Garden and had a burger then we and Matt made the most of the day and went around London. I found the VOODOO Vixen dress I had been eyeing up in a shop there and was very disappointed when the fit was terrible. I don’t know if it was the dress in general or just the dress on me, but unless I lift my boobs close to my chin it’s all saggy at the top. Most likely for the best as I am SOOO SKINT till Tuesday heheh!

We are then going for a Chinese this evening with Matt’s Dad which should be lovely and then that’s it! As you can see if you actually read the above post I have had a rather hectic week and weekend. I’m gutted it’s all coming to an end and I really have post weekend blues! I need a pick me up to cheer me up!

Hopefully this weekend will be a relaxing one though!!

Star Treking

It’s Friday again yay! And it’s a bank holiday weekend this weekend so double yay! There’s a book I might have a go at reading this weekend. It’s called ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ seems interesting. Possibly a little sad but we shall see. I don’t think I've written anything in about two weeks. Tut tut. I went to see Star Trek Into Darkness and it was pretty epic! I really really enjoyed it! I loved the way I could still relate to it as a fan of the old series and I loved the way we got to know the characters even more! I didn't really like Spock in the first film, but I warmed to him much more in this one! I will most defiantly be going to see that again before it stops showing in the cinema.

I looked like a massive dork in my shirt and necklace but I did not care I felt pretty awesome. And I actually got a picture with Matt and that was very exciting as he never lets me take photos of him! We bought a combo food thing and I got a free badge, actually she gave us two eep!

 I really like this t-shirt I'm glad I got it (Tesco £8)

Last weekend was a bit of a flop. I just ended yup going shopping twice! I really don’t like shopping much anymore. This Saturday I am planning on attending MCM expo, I have never been and I think it will be quite fun and interesting! It’s only £10 to get in and £8 for a travel card which I could easily waste if I went shopping on petrol and parking! I might take Matt’s Mass effect box to get signed, I think it would be a good surprise :D

I am going into town this lunch time to pick up some black nail polish to do more patterns and what not. I plan on doing pandas tonight! Last week I did cupcake for my friend Gemma and I went for a simple polka dot effect with a darker green and white on top of light green. I get so many compliments on my nails I really like it :)

Barry M green, Rimmel dark green and a white I had.

I am really hoping the pandas will look nice but we shall see I guess. We shall see.

Last weekend and its the weekend tomorrow WOOHOO!

I had such a nice weekend last weekend! Me and Matt went to London on the Saturday to the mega bloks day they had in Forbidden Planet. We were way too early, I was told they would hand out goody bags when they opened in the morning at 10am and then the actual thing started at midday. But they didn’t hand anything out until midday…. So we pottered about and got a coffee from the Christmas coffees at Starbucks. I just generally enjoyed being with him. The event itself wasn’t very spectacular, it was pretty much a man from mega bloks building a mega bloks toy thing for 4 hours. So went went off and looked around other parts of London town.

Went to Matt’s favourite T-Shirt shop, although they didn’t really have anything and also looked around a few other places then got some food too as we hadn’t eaten since breakfast and it was about 2:30-3pm.
We then went back to forbiddon planet to see if they guy had finished the model in the 4 hours, he had not and I bought some comics and Matt got a T-Shirt and we made our way home.

Got in around 6:30pmish and I fell asleep till 10pm and had some food and then fell back asleep which I am annoyed about as I wanted to spend the MOST amount of time with Matthew as I humanly could! However I have been unwell all week and I was too tired and sniffly to fight the sleep.

Sunday was annoying as I took Matt to work as it was raining so hard in  the morning. They told him he couldn’t have the Sunday off too, yet when he got there they were over staffed and the shop was dead, so Matt came home earlier and that was nice…. Still would have been better if they had been more competent and let him have the day off in the first place!

Then Monday morning I was so dizzy and just felt so shit I stayed at home, Matt also had the day off which was great as we spent ages laying in bed and I thoroughly enjoyed it! We watched Star Trek, popped to the cafĂ© down the Valley and had lunch and then at Midnight went and got his new Halo Xbox. So I doubt I will speak to him much for the next week ahah. It’s ok as I am going out tonight to see Aimee…. Yaay.

I think things are ok between me and Matt the moment. Things feel nice I think, I’m always waiting though for it to plummet down again and my heart to break again…… but oh well. Hopefully he can forgive me in time and hopefully he won’t leave me In February because I love him more than the world…. Alas.

The rest of the week has been pretty crappy. I am really struggling with this work work work thing. I’m sort of thinking whats the point of being alive if this is all I do with myself. I work to afford things, like I could work all year to afford to go on holiday for a week. What the fuck is the point of that. Ah well, hopefully this will go away with time and working will get easier.

I have loads of time off over Christmas which I am super pleased about. I am having a half day on the 11th to then get up to London to see Mumford and sons. Then I have the 12th and the 13th off to spend with Matt and get the Christmas presents sorted and what not. Then I work for a week and 2 days and then it’s Christmas day and I have the 25th – 30th off and I offered to work the 31st and then I have the 1st off! YAAAY, I’m so excited for December to come, time off Mumford and sons and Christmas. It’s my favourite time of the year!

Anyway it is the weekend tomorrow and I cannot wait. This one will be a slow and chilled out one and I am going to be really exciting and clean the room and wash all the clothes! I cannot wait till Lunch time I am getting hungry. Only an hour to go D:
