Weekend exploring new places!

I am always so confused when Monday arrives. I swear only a few hours ago we were excited for the arrival of Friday, yet here we are trudging to the train to start a whole week of work. Especially when I am so desperate for time off and a break, alas only 8 more weeks and I will get my week off darn it!

Anyway this weekend was exceptionally pleasant. Saturday I woke up had breakfast did a bit of washing and hula hooping (yeah I’m getting pretty good at that now!) and while eating lunch looking out the window at the beautiful sunny day I decided it was a waste to spend in doors. I was glad I decided this as it was GLORIOUS outside, I wasn’t aware it was as hot as it was. I picked out my new Sugarhill Boutique dress from a few weekends ago and my new denim jacket and headed to Guilford on the train.

I’ve only been there to go to the cathedral, so I was excited to see what the town was like and I wasn’t at all disappointed.  The train was only £12 for us both with my saver card and less than half an hour, once we got there it was a simple walk to the shops, over a beautiful bridge overlooking the canal, the shops were up a large hill and the streets were cobbled. Although a Saturday afternoon, it was peaceful and enjoyable. Most of the shopping was outside so we enjoyed the sunshine, although my jacket spent all afternoon wrapped round my waist as it was far too hot to wear.

Guildford is a stunning town, it really is! I thoroughly enjoyed it, the atmosphere is lovely and everything is more peaceful and old worldly! Traveling through the countryside on the train to get there and the little cobbled streets and traditional buildings. I was dying to have a good look around the canal and I thought I saw a garden at the end of the street which I wanted to explore.

We did lots of shopping, alas I fell in love with a Cath Kidston skirt and a lovely ring in a small shop but neither had my size. There were more unusual shops compared to any old shopping centre, including Cath Kidston and I just really enjoyed my time there. I wish I had taken some photos.

Matt however started to overheat a little bit and we stopped off at Creams for an Ice Cream. I had 2 scoops - Snickers and Ferrero Rocher. It was far too big but I loved it! Matt was still not feeling 100% so we didn’t look around the canal and gardens instead we headed home. I will defiantly be back though to explore more that is for sure and next time I will make sure to take my camera!

That evening we just went to the cinema and relaxed at home!

Sunday I had to catch up on house stuff and also start some freelance work I had been meaning to do for way too long! I also had to pop to town to run a few errands the main one was to buy bread. I did buy bread and some other important things, but I also accidentally came back with these beauties’!

 New Look £10

I saw them in New Look reduced to £10 and I’ve been trying to find some new shoes that are more supportive and better for walking in than my Primark ballet pumps. I kind of pulled a face but thought well let me see and I tried them on. I was shocked when I thought how lovely they looked on and I started to walk home and had to turn around and go back to pick them up they were too much of a bargain to miss!

I thought they would be great in the summer if the weather is a little off, and a good way to start to introduce myself into wearing my Dr Martins in the autumn!

So that is one thing that is cheering me up on this Monday, my shiny new shoes!

I hope your Monday is well, and I hope the next weekend comes around even quicker than the last!

The perfect dress

I found the perfect dress. I really did and I am so pleased with it! I wanted to get something perfect for my Grandpa’s funeral. I wanted it to be something that he would of gone, ‘yes I like that a lot!’

I have black clothes, but all of them have been for work and although I have a few smart dresses (all have patterns on of some sort) it just didn’t feel special enough… All the items that would have been ok to wear I only own because I had to get them for work so I never really liked any of them like I do my own clothes.

So I ordered a dress online and I wasn’t blown away by it… Matt suggested we went and had a look so last Friday after work, very reluctantly as I was exhausted we headed off to Lakeside. I actually ended up having a lovely evening. It was one of those shopping trips that ended up being really productive and satisfying and I kind of wish we could do it again tonight but there would just be no point.

I got some cardi’s from Forever 21, upon getting home I realised the black one was much shorter than the other two I got and was a little bummed out about that, then I also realised my blue had a hole in it at work on that Friday so I thought ohh good both of those can go back.

We also tried the new KFC pulled chicken burger. It wasn’t great.

We had a long mooch around forever 21, but that shop is just not made for people of my height. Then we came out of there and Matt convinced me to go to House of Fraser, even though I insisted I  couldn’t afford it! At the back as I almost gave up in there we spied a Yumi section (I do love Yumi dresses) I had spotted a Yumi dress online but it was £50 alas…. It was only £48 in store and then Matt found a card that said 20% off for students! Yay having my sisters student card! So I tried it on and I have to say it was perfect. Its not plain but the detailing on it is subtle and is just so elegant and feels lovely and feels like a dress my Grandpa would be proud of. We ended up getting it for £38, which although was more that I wanted to spend as I am trying to save up, it was worth every penny.

(please excuse the glum bum face)

I just thought it was gorgeous, and I am so glad Matt made me get it! I am dreading Tuesday no and at the same time looking forward to it being over with. The idea that it will all be very final and real upsets me but it must be done and at least I will feel  like my Grandpa would be proud of me!

I’m going to pair it with my TUK heels and a little black bag so hopefully I will look the business!

At least it is the weekend now, because I feel like I need to sleep I am do drained at the moment!

On a more exciting note, I have finally reached my ultimate goal! I have lost exactly 6stone altogether and 4 stone since I started myfitnesspal! I’m now done with my diet and im going to start to find a routine to maintain this weight! I’m proud of myself and this also doesn’t really feel real but fingers crossed I can keep as this weight!

Wishing for things and horribly bored.

I am so looking forward to the next month. Firstly I have 9 days off this time next week! Me and Matt will be going over to France for 5 days so that should be lovely!

Then just two weeks back at work and I will then have a 4 day weekend and it’s my birthday. Me and Matt are going to longleat! That I am really looking forward to that, I’ve never been and as I wasn’t invited when other people have been it should be very enjoyable. I am worried about going through the monkey bit though in fear that they may steal and takes bits off of my car ha ha!

And just before that there is the London winter film and comic now for the first time being held on the 5-6th of October. So far I plan on going to the 6th and I will be meeting Michael Shanks! I am pretty damn excited about that. I will have met almost everyone who played a member of the SG1 team! Woop! Then to add to the geeky excitement MCM is also on in October at the end and me and Matt will be going to that too. I went in the spring and it was ok, but Matt really wants to go so we shall be going back in October for that.

I know it’s a bit early to be thinking of birthday gifts, but I started having a think this week otherwise I will come up with nothing. The older I seem to get the harder it seems to be to think of things? Now I work too I can buy things that I may have waited for a birthday or Christmas to get! I have taken a bit of a shine to jumpers after getting one last week. As I am feeling much better about the way I look I would love to have a selection of jumpers to wear during the autumn and winter. I have been eyeing up these from Forever 21.

I believe me and Matt may pop to lakeside this evening I would like some pajamas. I don’t own any sets and the bottoms I had from last year aren't looking that great anymore but holey some of them! So I think I will have a look around for some jumpers then and anything else that catches my eyes. I’m thinking I may even be a boot wearer this year. I got a lovely pair from rocket dog for Christmas last year but they really are more for the snow and when it is minus numbers outside! I would like a brown pair that are much lighter for the autumn that I can take into the winter too!

As well as possibly getting some new winter clothes for my birthday I fell in love with a Hell Bunny coat I tried on in Camden. It is around £50 cheaper online so I will be getting it online if my mam says its ok to have! This would be a coat that would be kept for best and would be looked after and I hope to make last for years. It’s very classic with an alternative twist that’s really subtle! It’s the perfect style for me too! Tight at the waist and a BIG skirt bit, I have to say that I really did fall in love with it when I tried it on. I also went from barely fitting in an XL coat to a M fitting very nicely! That makes me feel good and makes me proud!

On that note I went swimming again last night and this morning lost another lb. That is now 38lbs gone or 2.7stone! 4 more lbs and it will be 3 stone! Its so strange because I don’t feel any different :( which is a shame as I wish I did, although confidence is rising which I believe is evidence in what I have been picking to wear recently.

So Thank GOD it’s Friday its been a rubbish week and I have 1 hour left of work and then the weekend hurrah! Still undecided on shopping this evening but we shall see. No doubt I will post any buys up here.

Toria gets some fancy Make-Up

Ok so it is Monday again. BOOOOHOOOO. The weekend come and goes so bloody quickly it makes me sick. Alas. Although I am excited for this time next week because I will be doing Monday then a half day then TWO WHOLE DAYS OFF. Then I come back on Friday and then I work another week and one day and its then CHRISTAMAS. Where I have a total of 7 days off would have been 8 but I was kind and offered to work NY eve so no one else had to do it. BLAH! Ahhh well it’s only one day then Tuesday I have off and then its only 3 days until the weekend again HURRAH!

Not tomorrow but the following Tuesday I will be seeing Mumford and sons. Eeep. I wam dead excited. I can’t wait; I love that band sooo damn much! Seriously! It has come around so SO insanely quickly too!
My new coat caused me some issues last week. I put my hand through the arm hole on Wednesday ready to go out for Lunch and all the lining inside had split. I was NOT impressed at all. I quickly had to borrow money to buy a new one as they were in the sale for £56 rather than the £70 I paid (yes this also pissed me off) So I ordered a new one, (last one in my size in stock) and it came Friday and I sent the broken one back on Saturday so I am hoping £70 will appear in my account by the end of the week. I hope so anyway! On the plus side I felt that the left arm was a little squiffy and was shorter than the right arm and now that isn’t an issue on the new coat. Still is making my left arm really hurt but hey ho  :(

I did however have a pretty lovely weekend. My granddad hasn’t been that well for a while and had a bad turn a week or so ago. So my Grandma hasn’t really been able to get out the house much and she needed a few bits from Croydon and I offered to take her in. She said we could look for some make up for me (as that is what she was getting) and she would treat me. I wasn’t sure about it but I tried Benefit and I LOVED IT! Then my Grandma was pretty much like we will take it all thanks. It came to £99 -£20ish for her makeup brush she wanted too! I nearly passed out. I felt awful taking that much money off my Grandmother but she insisted and I really really do love the make-up I picked.

So I got a foundation, foundation brush, Primer and a blusher. They smell sooo good too >.<

My face is a little scary in that photo but my skin looks really nice. My Grandma kept telling all the ladies at the counters that she was with her granddaughter and she seemed to really enjoy the day out. I really enjoyed it too :D

My eating healthy was going well until I stuffed my face last night with pizza D: I lost 2lbs last week and I was really excited. But I will start again today and carry on. Hopefully I won’t go crazy and order Dominos at 9pm at night. Although I now I have £10 credit on my account to get a free pizza as they fucked up my order. That will be hard to resist!

Anyway it is nearly lunchtime now which is good as I am STARVING HUNGRY! And then I can start counting down the hours till home time which cannot come soon enough!

Ma Partay

I had a really nice Saturday this weekend. Work last week was manic and I had so much to do. But that was good as it meant the days flew by! But I have loads to do today and tomorrow.
Saturday I got up real early and went and took Matt to the station and then went to spec savers and got the contacts sorted out! Dailies seem  to be working much better for me than monthly ones. I then drove straight to Croydon and was there by 10:30am and it was really quiet and very pleasant shopping on a Saturday as usually I go in the afternoon and it is way too busy and hectic.

I had a very good shop too and got some lovely bits. The jumper to the right, I've always wanted a tacky Christmas jumper and now my dreams have come true and for £12 too so it wasn't even expensive. I cannot wait to wear that out at Christmas time! WOOOPA!

Then I went into New look and found a LOVELY skirt and I tried it on a it looked great which made me very happy. It’s hard to find skirts that I love. Usually I hate the pattern or the shape is completely wrong, but this one was exactly what I like and I also bought a Moustache scarf! I will post a picture of them up when I am next wearing them!
I then went for lunch and a look round Redhill with Gem and then picked Matt up from work and headed over to Cat’s house to have a night with the girls from Uni and a little birthday thing…. BUT THEY ACTUALLY THREW ME A SURPRISE PARTY.

It was soo soo soo cool and there was a party table and balloons and a banner and food and drink! It was sooo nice! And then they got me the coolest gifts. They all went and got me a bear hoody that I have wanted forever and Aimee drew me a pillow of all the amazing things that I love the most. It made me completely speechless which is something that is very hard…. It was amazing and it was all so thoughtful!

We then ordered Pizza and ate too much, watched some TV played with balloons and just had a really really nice night! I had to leave about midnight as I was falling asleep I was so tired, but it was fun and I was really touched they would go out their way to do that for me.

Sunday on the other hand was pretty shit. Had a MASSIVE HEADACHE, weather was awful and it was boring and long and I wasted half  the day asleep. Ahhh well, and now it’s Monday again and I have a whole week of work ahead of me. Boooo….
Toodles.
